it was pretty easy, very time consuming however

if the buttons (or however your door inserts fasten) don't match up:

you just take off the old leather, that's connected by staples

then take off the leather on the new insert, and attach to the old insert

i used staples, but you have to staple them at a weird angle so you don't puncture the leather

even if you do, it's not noticeable

if the buttons match up, then you're golden

i also got clear corners for $8 from a jy so it's a gold mine if you can filter through half the crap

this cost me about $10

hope that helped

oh hahah

when you said the "inner" door panel i thought that's what you meant lol

now reading that over again, i see what you meant

but yea the car i got the inserts off of had a perfect interior

the seats were absolutely immaculate, i only had about $40 on me so i just got these inserts, the clear corners, and a bunch of trim and plastic rivets or whatever they're called

i'm sure if you go to a jy you can find some good 850's

good luck, and sorry about the confusion lol

thanks but i was talking about the actual door panel not the insert ^_^

Given the shapes and the material used, I had been told by an upholstery shop in FL that it would not be under $200/panel. Not sure if those prices were inflated to run me off or not.

One thing that works very well is to fill the holes and marks in the door panels with compound or even caulk and to then paint them with Vinyl paint. I tried it on some trashed panels and it held up fine. The paint is about $13/can. One can does 3 panels. Just make sure you use paintable caulk.

i was thinking about doing them in leather or something similar... i dont think it could be a single piece. would have to be stiched. my mother in law was a seamstress, put her to work

im trying to get ideas as to where the stiching should go to make it look good
