Jack8745
damn it, i just spent 1 and 1/2 hours under the car looking for this a "bump" I'm hearing. after rasing and lowering the car couple of times I cant find nothing loose. Whenever I go over a speed bump or make sharp left turns (does not do it when i turn right) i hear a clunk/bump from the passenger front area. Only does it when the car is moving I didn't feel like removing my struts to check it. i'll do it if i have to I got eibach and bilsteins on for 2~3 years now. replaced the strut bushings then also.last time (and first) i would hear bumps all the time, it was easy to tell the noises where coming from the struts any serious suggesrions ? <_<
Fudge_Brownie
Check for balljoint play and worn control arm bushings. Try grabbing the wheel at 9 and 3 olcok and 12 and 6 to see if it has play and/or can recreate the knock. Sounds like a control arm or tierod problem to me. the commissar!
how are your spring seats? Mine would make a clunk/bump noise on speedbumps as you indicated prior to replacement.
cn90
My lates post is from today Feb. 01, 2009:http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?showtopic=111383The bottom line about the Front End Suspension is that: I learned the Front Suspension hard way:- I first replaced the Outer Tierods 12 months ago- Sway Bar End Links 6 months ago- Control Arms (Volvo OEM) 4 months ago- Then CV Rubber Boots 2 months ago.- Today, I just replaced my Front Strut! So this was my 5th time poking my head in that area!So if you have more than 90-100K miles and if you plan to keep your car for another 80-100K, then consider doing ALL of the items I mentioned at the same time, on the long run, you save money/labor/alignment costs. AlvinL
Where did you get your end links? Check the one on the right side. That's my first thought too.
