jschaefer7406
Hello all,In my recent quest for a bevel gear for my 2000, I have purchased a unit from a 2002 XC70. Unfortunately, I cannot make it work in the 2000. Pinion flange is too short on the '02 and cannot be swapped to work. So, I now have this good unit for sale. Turns smooth, input splines are great. No apparent leaks and fluid was fairly clean. Pics:As most know, these go for $1800+ from Volvo and I was quoted $1275 from Erie (what a deal, huh? ). I would like to get $450 + shipping for this one, but I'm somewhat negotiable. Located in northeast PA.Please let me know what you think,JoeP.S. - Would (obviously) consider trade for a known good angle gear for a 2000 model... Keaton85
What part wont fit? the part that does to the drive shaft?
jschaefer7406
What part wont fit? the part that does to the drive shaft? That's the part. The pinion doesn't have enough splines/threads to accomodate my flange, so I cannot simply swap it to the new gear. Shame though, as it's very clean and unmolested...Joe
Keaton85
Swap that gear from your other one! that will work correct? Beucase all you need is the teeth for that coupler that goes into the tranny. If my English makes any sense haha

Keaton85
It's weird that when you take that piece off for the drive shaft that the splines are different, I would have never thought. How about just swapping over the half you need to your original bevel gear? It's cut perfectly to be able to do that!
