Pricing Help - '98 V70t5m

This isn't meant to be a "feeler", fishing expedition, teaser or any other BS, just a request for pricing input. I wasn't intending to sell this car immediately, but incessant badgering from a close friend and no space to keep 3 (new V70 3.2) cars and 3 motorcycles so I committed to establish a fair price for him. He already has an S70T5A olive with lots of Cheerios on the floorboards.

1998 V70T5M in pewter purchased 9/00 from Herzog-Meier Volvo in Beaverton, OR w/ 48K on the clock. I am the second owner and have every service record and repair receipt from the only indie shop in Portland that has ever touched it. It has never missed a service and there are currently no mechanical / electrical faults and zero body damage. I've driven a fair share of '98, '99 S/V70's and this is a "tight" one.

Mods: ipd Stage III kit (ECU, 18T, R mani, Kemira DP, ipd exhuast), Aquamist with display, boost gauge, double gauge pods, TME, Bilsteins, ipd sways, ipd strut brace, ipd 302mm brake kit, SS lines, side markers, wing, R bumper, Volans, XC eggcrate. Goes like stank, howls like a banshee, pulls trucks out of ditches, leaps over tall buildings. When my ex SCCA racing, 70 yr old mother comes to visit she likes to drive it ..... hard. Kudos to ipd for their Stage III kit component selection and ECU flash. Never a hiccup in nearly 40K miles. Just mash and go.

Interior: Tint, new cargo cover, cargo nets, cargo liner, tailgate trim clip kit, rubber mats - No stains / damage to carpet, headliner. Driver's seat is well worn, but cared for and no cracking. Passenger and rear seats are relatively untouched. 3 of 4 door panels are unscathed. RF has started to delam. Little to no peeling at all on switchgear. All options function and have been serviced or replaced to date (AC, TRACS, auto climate, heated seats, 12V outlets, lighting, all switches, etc). No big stuff missed (heater core, ABS module, belts, radiator, coolant flushes, interior temp sensor, PCV, evap, etc). ipd warrantied a new rear sway, Bilstein has warrentied both front struts at times. XM radio. Never smoked in, no McDonalds runs with the kids, no wet dogs, no leaks, and no sh*t jammed in every gap and crack. Sorta OCD clean. Most clients that don't know cars are blown away when they look at the big mileage.

Exterior: 2 light impacts over the years. One to the LF fender behind the marker light and ahead of door (have all photos and docs) resulting in a new fender and paint - 1/06. One from a P/U backing into hood at stoplight resulting in new XC70 hood and complete front clip respray to match it all - 3/08. Top of rear bumper at tailgate has touch up spots from light scratching. One small rock chip in window on passenger side (my good luck rock chip) filled, but still visible. CarFaxed it and nothing comes up, though? Paint is clay clean, glossy and waxed. No door dings or other crap. Some paint chips in areas that cars with 203K get, but touched up. Slight marring where Thule rack feet ride on roof.

Current mileage: 203,xxx and now only pulling weekend ski duty. Consumes approx .75 qts every 30-45 days. Head was pulled and valves were done at 187K. Just sat here and totaled the maintenance and mod receipts at approx more than $23K. :o Rear main drips a little when hot even after 2 clutches and another, seperate rear main seal project to try and stop it.

Wheels: Perfos, Volans w/ 2nd season BFG rubber, 16" steelies w/ 2nd season Nokian RSi snows.

Added pics. Will look for other file with more in it.

Sounds like a great setup. Keep in mind that most non-enthusiasts won't see any value added because of the mods; to the general buyer, they actually make the car look LESS attractive. With that mileage and all those mods, I'd say that you'd be lucky to see 5 or 6 grand in this market, and that's selling it to an enthusiast on VS or SS (not sure where you're located but add $500-1000 if you're on one of the coasts). Personally, I would de-mod it as much as possible, sell everything (ECU, sways, etc) on here, then sell the car. Individually you'd be able to get at least a grand or two out of all of those goodies. You'd make much more $$ that way.

4-6k need pics :lol:

I would have said around 5k or so. I think the only thing that is hurting you is mileage. Selling the mods would probably net you more money but it sounds like you just want a fair price for your friend.

where were you a month ago with this car? :(

nice... :tup::tup:

23g's in mods and maintenance stuff!!! I would feel like I was married to it. That is a really nice car. Hard to put a number on it, and I am a car weasel. Dont sell it to him unless you dont want it anymore. I personally wuold tell um to beedit. My # is 10

grand. And I think that is a gift. Forget about the miles. Look at what you got!

Thanks. Please go see my new post for a clean, 4 car garage in the WANTED section. :D Sunk costs, done deal. I think everyone knows that when you go down this road you do so with a financial post hole digger. Felt the same way about my 142, Saab SPG, VW Corrado, not so much the SHO, etc. I'm sure we'll work something out, but it's just not logistically reasonable to keep it around, jockeying cars, etc.

Where the hell are ya. I checked your profile and it does not say. If you are near Philly, I may have interest too.
