VAVolvo
I have currently installed in my 850 NA a K&N high flow cone filter intake, Iridium plugs, most of Stage 0 stuff (except for the plug wires) and will be getting a new exhaust with a high flow cat, flow master muffler and I think 3" piping. Then after that, I'm getting an ECU upgrade with SpeedtuningUSA which will add another 16 HP. I was wondering if someone could give me a ball park estimate of the HP that I will have when I'm done, and if there is any other upgrade that I left out?Thankyou! FINN
I dont think running a 3" exhaust on a NA is necessary.
VAVolvo
Could be 2 1/2"...I think...yeah...pretty sure....but that is beside the point.
StickThatClutch
If you go with like a 2.5" exhuast I think you can net around 8-10 whp. If you go with the 3" I think you'll see worse number due to less backpressure.Good luck.
VAVolvo
Ok, ok...2 1/2"...ENOUGH about the exhaust...Anything else? Seriously...with a PROPER exhaust, intake, ECU upgrade...what is the added HP?
JDELUNA
It will be hard to estimate yor HP as the HP figures that manufactures of the mods can not be added up to a single figure. The reason being is that each HP figure that they give may be measured at a certain RPM. Example is that let us pretend that K&N claims that by adding their intake it will give you 10HP gain, but this is at 5500rpm, the Speedtuning chip may claim 15HP gain, but this is at 6000rpm, Exhaust gives you 7HP but at 3500rpm. As you can see you can not just simply add all these numbers up and get a figure. The best thing to do is to get your car dynoed. :)
StickThatClutch
I say 8-10 peak fwhp. Maybe some gains as high as 15 in the midrange. Which isn't too bad.

I'll look into the dynoed thing, got any info on that?
turbor850
8-10 whpfrom an exhaust ? ? ? I don't even think turbo 850's get that . . . .my guess is 168 stock + exhaust/intake/ecu = 190 . . . .

I dyno'ed my S60 it netted 11.7 whp peak with some ranges seeing almost as much as 20whp.

I looked up places that had DynoJet dynos, you will need to call them to see if they are open to the public, how much it will cost, etc. Good luck and God Bless. volvo4lif3
i would like to say that stock plain jane 850's had 150 hp. My dad had an 97 n/a 850 , that was until he hit into an 18 wheeler, and survived :)
