volflo
from an exhaust ? ? ? I don't even think turbo 850's get that . . . .←..... right. but on the other hand id really be curious if i threw my orig exhaust back in. i think i d loose 30hp......perhaps more? :o
Ping138
Volflo is right, a good turbo back setup will get you about 30hp thats a fairly accurate guess, as for our N/A friend, i posted sometime ago about ECU's not really helping N/A motors, and why, search and you'll find it, worth reading before you waste money, also about the net hp, it does not really matter, hp has very little to do with speed, i know i know i'm going to get flamed about this, but i'm willing to back that statement up if anyone is still interested and reading this post, otherwise i'll not waste time typing it. The bottom line is run it at the track, because HP LIES!!!!!
theunderlord
The bottom line is run it at the track.←True story. this is one of the only ways to figure your shiz out. And this is the funnest way to figure it out too.. :D
TorqueSteer
Horsepower just sounds good and sells cars, bottom line. I really dont know why anyone could care about horsepower since it varies so much at each different rpm. To see if mods work, go to the track and test it. Track times are for the most part constant and what counts...

For what it's worth, the car has performed much better with the intake + exhaust set-up. I suppose the HP will have little to do with anything if I get the most out of my car. The car has to fit me and so far it is shaping up nicely. I suppose I really don't need anyone to tell me the HP that I have, because I've owned and driven several high performance cars, including a '02 WRX for a while (not mine), and I'm still very impressed with the output I'm getting with my Volvo right now.Thankyou for your input! volflo
The bottom line is run it at the track, because HP LIES!!!!!←i found that out as wellcompare my 318 bhp (MAHA static dyno) with my mod listand then watch the my 0-210k vid. that doesnt really fit...thats why i always do my 80 to 180k test in 4th gear at the same place. no shifting. (also trying to get comparable weather conditions)so in comparable weather my stock 850R manual (250hp) did that in 18 something.now im at 10 something. yes no kidding. Its probably cheap and very good way to dyno your individual gains..... maiku
i would like to say that stock plain jane 850's had 150 hp. My dad had an 97 n/a 850 , that was until he hit into an 18 wheeler, and survived ←the GLE base models have 143hp or something like thatthe GLT from 93-96 have 168hp, the 97 having the turbo
