I have located an early style '98 gear (at least it looks to be from the photos I have). Does anyone know for certain whether or not I can swap the splined shaft (ring gear) into my 2000 case? I'd rather not use the entire gear from the '98 as a mounting tab is missing (hell I could TIG it, but I'd rather use my case anyway and get rid of that stupid damper on the bottom).
