Two Female Ends That Have No Matching Male Ends

Hey guys, I need a little help.

I'm replacing the cracked 2.4 with a 2.3 in a 1997 Volvo 850 GLT. I'm putting it mostly back to stock. There are two female ends that don't seem to have the matching male ends. Please help me figure out to what they connect.

Thanks in advance,

Hilton

The one toward the radiator looks like it would either be to that little box thing under that lip and next to the cooling fan relay and such or possibly to the purge valve?

The one toward the airbox def. looks like a TCV/BCS connector.

You are correct sir B)

then I've made other errors. I think my TCV/BCS is already hooked up to one of those.

nightmare.

IIRC there's a sensor connector on the bottom of the brake fluid res. that looks very similar....just check and re check, you'll be fine.

When frustration arises it's time for a break....remember that golden rule, nothing gets solved under stress, at least for me. lol

You're right about the frustration part. I looked at it with rested eyes this morning and almost immediately found the one on left. The one on the right still is missing.

The cruise and brake reservoir are hooked up. This line looks like is has a bend in it where it went over the incoming air tube.

If I had known how much work this was going to be, I never would have started this project. I'm near the end now, and a worried that it's not going to work. There are so many little things that could have gone wrong. Meh, I can always set it on fire though. Right?

No fire...you'll get it...you could always fire it up and see what X Mas lights you got, that'd be a sure way of telling what's not plugged into where.

Also did you look on the lower portion of the brake line area? There's a connector identical to that one that plugs in from a downwards angle IIRC....I'm thinking you have that one switched with the BCS.

Is it possible that it was supposed to go to the air pump for the emissions? The pump that pushes fresh air into the exhaust to heat up the catalytic converter?

I removed that system when I put on the 3" exhaust several years ago. Figured no cat, why bother? I hope that's it.

Negative, the SAS pump connector is huge...much larger than the ones pictured anyway.

The one in the front could be for the horn. you'll also have a couple near the front for headlight wipers, even if you don't have headlight wipers, but I think they have three or four wires.

Your EVAP purge valve and EGR converter solenoid will be near the top of the radiator, EVAP purge has a green and a blue/green wire, EGR converter solenoid has a green and a green/brown wire.

I put fluids in the car and hooked up the turbo piping and stuck the battery back in.

Car won't start.

The fuel injectors were spewing fuel out, so I replaced the gaskets with ones from the 2.4 liter injectors. Solved that little problem.

Then the top oil cooler line popped out, shooting oil all over the alternator. I can't wait for that to fail.

Car still won't start. I hooked my jump box up in addition to the freshly charged battery thinking it couldn't hurt.

I checked the timing, everything looked good.

I'm pretty close to tearing the Swedish flag off the wall in my garage and torching the whole project.
