Ozark Lee
What are the wire colors going to the connectors? Knock sensors perhaps? Maybe they are just dykes and have no male partners....Lee
sparkydog
You read the wire color first then the stripe color, like a black wire with a white stripe, a red wire with a blue stripe etc.
BEJinFBK
I can't read any of that. The wire in question has a yellow stripe on it.Then here ya go to the next step:http://mojevolvo.pl/wiki/Volvo_850There are only 4 years listed under "Schematy elektryczne Volvotechinfo".Choose yours. erikv11
do you remember hooking up the knock sensors? I thought the same thing right when I saw them.
70 140
I can't tell if you have a evap canister purge valve or not? As already mentioned, the connector closest to the fan housing looks like the canister purge valve connection. The second wire in qustion does not look long enough to reach to where the knock sensors are. monkeybird02
Iiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeee  What color are the wires????? There will be no more guessing, then. Pull back that corrugated wire jacket, wipe the wires clean with some sort of cleaning stuff, then post what colors you find right here. On this forum. Then one of us will consult some of our many sources of useless Volvo knowledge and tell you EXACTLY what those plugs are for. We'll even make sure its translated out of the Mother Polish for ya. Or we could all keep guessing what they are. ;)
Hilton
That sounds great. I'll do that when I get home from work.

It also has 3 pins.
Hilton
These are the colors of the wires on the two female connectors mentioned. Red w/ black stripeBlueGray with black stripeBlue with brown stripeThe car isn't getting spark. I checked it at the coil. The camshaft position sensor plug is damaged. I've seen similar sensors on other cars prevent the coil from sparking.I'm going to order a camshaft position sensor, and hopefully someone will know where the female ends are supposed to connect. Thanks again. sparkydog
The first one should be the crank sensor (red w.black) the second should be the tcv (gray w.black).
Cal3thousand
Funny thing, he said he the TCV already hooked up... wonder what that was going to?
Hilton
Not only that, but the crank position sensor is also connected to something. I'll report back with more wire color combinations tonight.
