nolanator
hey hey,i've run into an issue on one of the cars a buddy and i am working on presently. after a brief inspection, it was brought to my attention that there are a couple small holes in the fuel tank. i am considering replacing the entire tank, but at roughly $150+ is it really worth it? the alternative and seemingly more practical idea is to fix the damage myself by some sort of patching or other method. my question is has anyone gone about doing this in the past or have any knowledge of what the fuel tank is made of and how to mend it. maybe a fiberglass epoxy? thanks in advance. AlvinL
There is a recall for a gas tank related work. Did you check if this applies?

Tightmopedman9
iirc its not for the tank itself, just the shielding.yeah this won't fix the leak. trust me :(
AlvinL
IIRC, if the leak is caused by the shield bushings, it will be covered. You get a new tank.

backfoot100
i would replace it..Agreed. I've never seen a successful fix on a gas tank. Anything that might seem to be a fix is only temporary.
