FCP Euro
interesting indeed. maybe some of my sarcastic answers on that insanely horrible survey sparked some interest back on this forum. hahahahaInsanely horrible or incredibly intuitive...you be the judge. If you have concerns there will be a time and a place to express them with us. if you simply cannot contain yourself until then, you can email me directly for that matter. My personal email is scottd@fcpgroton.com This thread however is for assistance with a timing belt job. I would like to keep focus on the topic at hand. We are here to help xluke. xluke
interesting indeed. maybe some of my sarcastic answers on that insanely horrible survey sparked some interest back on this forum. hahahahaHa, I'd like to read that. Looking at your sig re xemodex makes me wonder out loud: maybe instead of replacing a bunch of seals and hoses for $500 that might go bad, maybe I should buy a xemodex instead because the ETM will go bad! Oh well, jump that hurdle when I come to it. I've got a yellow sticker ETM so maybe I'll get another 10k

TurboS60
Its good to see you guys are on here now.Ive always purchased my parts through FCP unless the part i was looking for wasnt available in OEM or GV.
DonutsDemise
when i did my engine swap i went out and found all OEM parts. fcp was the source for a good amount but i had to go elsewhere when fcp carried scantech etc. fcp is a great vendor but sometimes the good parts aren't avalaible from them. get as close to Genuine Volvo as you can when you can't get the good stuff for a reasonable price. also, the water pumps on our cars are pretty solid, i replaced mine for peace of mind but i haven't ever heard of one busting while the motor was running.when it comes to mechanical parts, i go OEM... other things i don't mind scantech etc.
billr99
For what its worth I just did a TB, serpentine belt and all the rollers on my XC using all FCP parts. This is the first changeout of these parts on this car and I hate to tell you but FCP provided me with INA rollers and that is exactly what was on the car from the factory. As far as Conti belts, I've used them for years and have had no problems. As it is, where do you think Volvo gets their stuff? Its going to be Conti, Gates, or the Chinese; for the vast number of bits, they come from suppliers who also sell aftermarket (which is where the money is at anyway).Years ago, I worked for an OEM supplier to GM, Ford, Chrysler and VW and we sold the exact same parts to the aftermarket (most NAPA). The only thing we would do is change the tooling to remove the OEM markings and replace them with "generic" part number markings. The parts went thru the same processes using the same raw material and QA checks. It would have been too big a deal to change all of that just to do aftermarket parts differently.Cheers,Bill

PM sent, I deleted what i was going to post public..Woah Woah...Relax#1 You blasted us. We spent countless hours going over the questions in the survey to make sure it would not only benefit us but the rest of the community that we supply parts for. #2 If the survey was insanely horrible then it did an absolutely terrible job of getting us as a supporting vendor on VS and making an attempt at getting you guys the discount you all seem to so desire#3 You should have posted your PM. We have nothing to hide. We desire openness. There is nothing you could possibly say that we would not take as constructive criticism. If you really think our survey was that bad, start a thread " FCP Groton's Horrible Survey." I will give you the survey link, and the results link to post on your thread. Let us know what we could have changed to make it better, and in three months a new survey will be distributed. We don't mind if you blast us. You could have at least welcomed us first then took your shots. :)
