ACiancio
My brother found 2 spoilers today while looking for parts for his 240. one is a standard and the other off an R. first question witch one would look better on a GLT? second do I need the springs as well or will the ones on mine work with the added weight of the spoiler? dcovey
I can't speak as to which one will look better, but as for upgraded springs to support a spoiler.....Do you ever carry a couple bags of groceries in the trunk? ;)
ACiancio
Yes, I carry a lot of different things in the trunk from time to time.
ozzimark
If the old struts aren't strong enough to properly hold the trunk up, new struts meant to go with the spoiler only cost like $20 each.
dcovey
I read the original question and thought that when ACiancio asked about springs he was referring to the rear suspension. In other words I thought he asked if the extra 8 pounds of spoiler would require upgraded rear suspension springs, hence my question regarding a couple bags of groceries, which would exceed the weight of a spoiler. If the question was referring to the struts that support the trunk lid when open, I withdraw my question. ACiancio
So they are different struts? I guess that was my main question if there where different struts for trucks with the spoiler

ozzimark
Yeah, there are. Spoiler isn't too heavy though, so I wouldn't bother replacing them unless it's actually something that bothers you.
Black Betty
R spoiler is worth more and i think it looks better get that one. I wouldn't both upgrade the struts yours are probably shot anyways so replace if you want but its not needed
ACiancio
I have been told that the R would not match the body lines and bumpers on my GLT. that and the standard is the correct color. but thats why I got on here to ask, would the R look good or would it be out of place? Bazarvospeed
Buy both & see 4 ur self if you can get both. Sell the one you don't want. Do what u think looks good not what others think. But its ok to hear what others say lol good or bad
Cal3thousand
IMO the R one curves up too high in the backThe regular one on my turbo keeps more of a compact line in the profile. but that's just an opinion...
