Obd2 Obdii Scanner For V70?

Hello,

I figure I should outfit myself with a code reader since I'll be doing my own maintenance on this '99 v70 xc. As I understand it these cars have a lot of volvo specific codes and not all obd2 scanners can read them / reset them. Do you guys recommend any particular scanner? As usual, I'm looking for something that will do the job and not cost a lot. IPD's scangauge II looks cool but is pretty pricey as I see a lot of scanners going on ebay for $40.

Any input as always is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

baller

I can get a mirror mount made for you for around $40 shipped but you will need a extra Cat5e cable and a coupler to make the wire go the whole way up to the mirror.

As I understand it there are standard OBDII codes and also volvo specific does. Can the scangauge II read the volvo specific codes? Also, does it display AFR?

If you want volvo specific codes you need the VCT2000 $1500+

You can get a AFR thing for it and then have it read it.

how I dont know but theres a spot on the guage for it

can also be a boost guage and a few other things , just hant got that far into yet.

Also is a trip computer

I have set on mine

Water Temp

Throttal Position

Timming

Intake Air Temp

BSR's PPC reads and clears Volvo specific codes and it sells for about US$200 on fleeBay.

Chilled, you weasted?

Who's got the silver lowered t5 wagon w/ volvospeed sticker over top right rear quarter? I saw it around hershey getting onto 322. I laid down some horn from my green 940 but no response, it looked like some gauge or radio was being messed with.

I'm hoping to put this engine in on Sunday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It was the P1 for sure but don't remember the rims. Very nice looking ride. In a derby I would take my 940 any day but something tells me you are a bit quicker off the line!

Why do you like the Scanguage so much? Have you used it to optimze mpg as I read a lot of people do, or what else is its attraction? My other option would be to get a $50 usb obdII and run similar software off of a laptop but obviously that would only be for sporadic use and not a permanent setup.

Its just there and easy to use and such ,

And no I havent optimzied fully yet mostly playing with it when I am at a redligth

That and it has all the other functions that you could ever want and all you have to do is plug it inot your OBD2 port.

but theres something even cooler out there then this .

http://www.zeitronix.com/order/order.htm

alittle more money but even more readouts

and theres even more baller then that but I cant find it right at this second it was in SS about a week or two ago.
