Blown Head Gasket

When it snowed the other day i moved my car to the bottom of our steep driveway so that i wasn't snowed in. When i went to start the car the next day it just cranked over and over and will not start.

First I checked fuel pressure and i have fuel pressure when i turn the ignition on but it drops when the pump cuts off after reaching operating pressure. i guess thats normal.

Then I checked spark and i have that.

Then I checked the coolant reservoir and i have oil.. wtf

Then i looked at the oil cap.. nothing there.

Then I did a compression check and the numbers were horrible. I got 90 60 90 120 100 I really do not even believe the numbers and will check again to make sure i had the gauge tight in the spark plug hole.

SO i guess another head gasket is in-store for the car.

Im sick of dealing with these problems. I don't have the time to deal with the problems.

I wish someone was interested enough to buy the whole car as it sits for a low price. I know its silly to try to sell a car that doesn't run.

I do not know what to do with it. What do you guys think?

Chilled Man just wants to steal your car

Ignoring the oil in the coolant tank for a minute (maybe a bad radiator?)

- it was running one day, then you moved it down the driveway, then it wasn't running.

- compression is low in ALL cylinders

first off, I'd check out lawn mower syndrome

do a search

Your psi numbers are low because you engine needs to run up to normal operating temps and driven for 10 to 20 mins to get accurate numbers. Could be faulty radiator for the oil in the coolant tank. How does the oil on the dipstick look?

VMS motor

Man swap trans.

GT35R

750CC INJ

The motor has been running fine with no problems other than valve seals in the past. I removed the head about a year and took the head to

be worked on. Valve seals were replaced and everything was fine. The motor probably has about 10k 15k miles on it. The gauge pod doesn't work so i have no idea what the real mileage is.

Cant be oil from radiator because its not auto.

What would it take to do compression test on a cold car?

Im about to dump the oil and look at it to see if there is any coolant in it. The oil cap looks fine.

:o there is your problem

Maybe it is but so far the motor has been fine other than the valve seals.

Maybe there was a defect in the head-gasket i put on it the last time.

Maybe its the turbo. It is oil and coolant cooled.

Is there anywhere else on the motor where oil and coolant could mix?

What does that have to do with anything?

90psi is somewhat low for a cold compression test, but never the less it should still run. I second the lawnmower syndrome. How did you torque your head gasket? Hows your timing marks? You said when you do a fuel pressure check, the fuel pressurizes then drops off when the pump turns off? That's a problem all by itself as the rail should hold pressure. Bad fuel regulator? leaking injector? Leaking injectors would cause a no start because the car is flooded.

nonetheless, you have a VMS motor and I've only heard bad things about them.

Improperly torqued head gasket, Busted radiator --- car would still start, leaking injectors? regulator? as fuel pressure doesnt hold.

pick your destruction :)

in the radiator. those lines to the radiator are for cooling the oil.

I will guess the car has a bad radiator, maybe had it for a little while, and the other day it got lawnmower syndrome.

pull each plug, put a teaspoon of oil in each cylinder. only a teaspoon that's hardly any but plenty to get the compression back up. put the plugs back in then crank it for about 60-90 seconds. if it is lawnmower syndrome it will eventually start, chug like hell while it burns off the oil, then you're good to go.

Then figure out if it is the radiator or the motor that is causing the mixed oil and coolant.
