rdtd Posted March 8, 2009 Report Share Posted March 8, 2009 There is a squeaking noise coming from the rear right hand side of my engine (I "think" from the turbo). The frequency of the squeaking noise increases with the revs. When on tick over the noise occurs about 2 times a second.It sounds like a dry bearing, a noise I would normally associate with a worn water pump.If anyone has any suggestion sor has come up against this before I'd be very inetrested in hearing from you.CheersRuairidh(Scotland, UK) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
PsychoWagon Posted March 9, 2009 Report Share Posted March 9, 2009 Haven't seen a diesel volvo, but I would put a pry bar between pedal + seat and rev it at 2k, then pop open the hood and listen.Could be a belt, but even if the turbo is squeaking a bit I wouldn't worry about it.
