'94 850

So I boughts me an N/A 850, '94 model a couple of weeks ago- need to do a few things including timing belt when the weather gets nicer this week- so in the meantime, I'm working on the interior. Odometer was broken. Fixed that yesterday w/ a new gear- pretty easy (and set the miles ahead with the 'ole pencil in the drill method), so while I was in the instrument cluster I replaced some burned out bulbs- one of them illuminated as SRS- DAMNIT! So, today, I'm reading up on things...checked codes... 2-1-2 and 2-2-2. The last code goes away and comes back (but I could still be dealing with passenger side airbag- or at least connections at some point). Seems that I need a new Clock Spring/Contact Reel. I have the two torx screws out for the airbag- no problems so far. I have to disconnect the air bag and seat a clockspring screw and then "Zero it out," according to VADIS. Here's where I get a bit confused. Anyone have some good tips on what to do here? I don't want to deploy anything and I probably want a clockspring to go back in without any issues. Suppose to turn it all the way to the clockwise and then three turns counter clockwise and set the screw, finally at the 1:00 position for this. Does this mean 360degree turns all the way around, seems my steering wheel won't do all of that...Help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and once the clock spring is out of the car, is there anyway to test it? I don't want to replace this apparently difficult to find part (and expensive if new) if it's really not broken. Btw, my reading shows that only '93-'95 850 ones are compatible.

its kind of hard to deploy and air bag but i rec disconection the battery i know there is still caps that hold power and could still deploy the bag but i just makes me feel better once the steering wheel is off all you have to do is count the turns from left to right and devided itin half and the set screw should be right aroung 1:00 or i not pretty close set the screw and reassemble. make sure you wheels are straight before doning any of this so the position of the wheel corrisponds with the tires . good luck and happy driving.

Thanks for your info...VADIS says to turn it all the way to the right (clockwise) and then back 3 turns and set to 1:00....this is different than what you're saying- which is right?
