First Ring Laps Of '09

Had about an hour at the Ring yesterday, finally. Was starting to think the snow would never clear.

Track was 95% dry but very cold, the Toyo R888's did very well when they got warm but I feel they have more to give in better conditions.

Overtook an M6 coming out of a pretty slow corner carrying a bit more speed onto the straight. Afterwards he came up to me asking if I had "NOS"

Last lap I drove without a passenger and went about 10s quicker than I had been last year. Unfortunately the German police were also doing some laps (wearing helmets and all) in their service vehicle and they hadn't gotten to the "look in your mirrors" part of the course yet so that cost me some time. Aside from that beautiful nearly traffic free lap. Occasionally the AVC-R would cut out reducing boost to 12 psi and making the car run pig rich.

There's a video, as always ;)http://www.greenringer.net/ring/16march09/lap_3b.avi it's 100 megs.

Still have some rubbing of the front tires in extreme situations, but I think I know where the problem is. Lowering the rear might be difficult without a lot of work on the fenders, will check it out next.

Don't have the Quaife in yet, probably missed that most of all yesterday :(

Do the police ruin everything even on the track? LOL

Looks good though. When the track gets a little warmer I would imagine the toyo r's will grip a lot better. I just picked up some bridgestone re-01r's to fit on my stock columbia's FTMFW! I used them back in the day when I was autox'n the Neon ACR, about as sticky a dot tire I have ever used.

Wish I could get away with a color change on my 855 to the olive green with an R bumper.
