sodowarts
2000 c70 with a 901s system. All of a sudden the cd I was playing sped up really fast and after waiting about 10-15 seconds it did not stop so I turned this systems off. But now the cd player doesn't work. I can eject it but when plugged in the cds don't play. Any ideas? Thanks.
(n)A-GAME
Welcome to the world of the awful SC-90X CD players. Unfortunately, that's a pretty common failure on these units. The bad news is it's probably broken for good. And Volvo will want about $600 for you to have it refurbished. The good news is that if you need a new one, I've got one with a functional CD player listed on Ebay right now. (Shameless plug, I know: Link)

(n)A-GAME
Did you get that quote from the dealer? Or from Alpine directly?
sodowarts
Any chance there is a separate fuse for just the cd changer? The radio itself works fine.
(n)A-GAME
It's not a fuse issue, more like the CD player mechanism itself is faulty.

(n)A-GAME
No kidding, heck I'd even be happy with a $250 figure - I was quoted $600 from my local dealer.

Blue850T5
Mine kept ejecting the cartridge, wouldn't play, and keeping a CD. The radio worked great, so I carfully took it apart and cleaned everything, bought a new cartridge (do not use a used one) and put it all back together and it has been working great for several months. These players at so mechanical and there is a lot that can go wrong with them. Good luck!
