DrvSfly
I have a '04 v70 2.5t that I need to test/change the fuel pump. How do I get to this? I searched and found nothing. Alldata only tells about the pump. Please tell me I don't need to drop the tank for this one.

Cost me over $1000.00 for a new one installed.

watertender3c
I wish I could be of more help, but damn, that is like the best response to an unhelpful post I have ever seen My response was in answer to the part of his post that reads "Please tell me I don't need to drop the tank for this one.". I figured that if he doesn't know that it's not necessary to "drop the tank" he's going to need professional (and I use the term lightly) help and any help I could give him would be useless. I was trying to let him down easy and it's obvious that being the butt of someone's sarcasm has amused a couple of people.A Google search of "fuel pump replacement" would pretty much tell him what he needs to know. By the way if I hadn't had to have a heart pacemaker installed when my fuel pump failed I would have installed it myself.
DrvSfly
Go ahead and google it. Tell me what you find.I looked under the seats where your s80 access plate is. Not here on this v70. I see one plate, under which, no furl pump.I am the professional trying to figure out what is going on.So what kind of help can you drop on top of this??My response was in answer to the part of his post that reads "Please tell me I don't need to drop the tank for this one.". PsychoWagon
There is a fuel pump under the access plate.I'm assuming you have a steel tank then, if you don't see fuel lines. Easy, just take the retaining ring out, fuel pump pops up, get your hands in the tank and disconnect everything. If you drop the tank on a P2 to change a fuel pump, you're a fool.
