tboyko
I'm looking for a place to mount my amplifier in the trunk of the car. I would like to get it out of the way, so I was considering purchasing some wood screws and mounting it to the back of the rear seats. Is this a good place to mount? I'm having a hard time determining how strong the material of the rear seat is and whether or not it would support the amplifier.

If you put the amp on the back of the seat and want to continue to be able to put the seat down, you'll need some slack in the wires obviously.. I mounted mine on a rack under the rear deck.. click the pic in my sig for details.. Also, how big of amp are you talkin about here? Unless you're talkin about a monster class D amp... it should hold it just fine..

JPigg34
Until I built my new box, I had mine mounted on the panel on the left side of the trunk. I liked it because no wires were visible. But it depends on how big your amp is.

It doesn't seem like you could listen to it while driving...

prasamin
will hold okay on the back plates....make use of all the mounting holes on the amp so it doesn't come off and set sparks or something with lose wiring....caution though, if you're using a very high powered amp and hit hard for long periods of time, then make sure it has breathing room behind your sub box! otherwise putting it on top of the sub box would be a good idea to keep it cool. Also, when I show people the box they are very impressed by the sound while standing behind my car. They are also impressed when I say I did everything myself.
