Che'_Moderator
and a CF one?One like Gemini I believe listed at 14-15, a real carbon fiber one would be 9-10 depending on if you used hood pins or not.

johnloves850's
so how much weight could you possibly loose from getting a carbon fiber hood?let's really go for a long shot and say 20lbsnow, how much do our seats weigh?racing seats>carbon fiber hoodcarbon fiber hoods are stupid unless your whole car is gutted besides a racing drivers seat, with oz wheels, and no features left on your car besides the gas/brake/clutch and possibly not even power steering, and you are still looking for more weight reductionthen yea, get a carbon fiber hoodotherwise, there is nothing wrong with stock
EVL WAGN
Nope, nothing wrong with the stock hoods at all...carbon fiber hoods are just waaaaaay badass looking as well as being slightly lighter. I too want a c/f hood for my car, but not on the premise of it being lighter...after all the car still weighs close to 4000lbs...like it would ever matter. They just simply look titties on cars. Falcone
They just simply look titties on cars.If only cars had titties. We wouldn't need airbags, just giant breast. As you mentioned, the only reason for a cf hood is to look like firm titties, not saggy ones. I believe the stock hood weighs 38lbs. Now take your fancy 3-way adjustable seats out, and put manual ones in, you will of saved the weight of the hood (3 motors under each seat). It really makes no sense to get a cf hood for weight loss, unless there is nothing else to be stripped or taken off. Cut your stock 34lb muffler off for a lighter one to save some weight. Rember cf hoods are firm titties, stock are saggy, but either way our hoods are titties.Mike

SIAMBLUE
If you want to replace something really heavy on our cars, the tailgate is baddass heavy you try holding one up with the rams disconnected,Gary
Naughty33W
its all about hp to weight ratio , on our cars you're looking at --- for every 12-15 lbs removed = +1 hp --- so if its going to cost you several hundred dollars to get the equivalent of +1-1.5 hp its just not worth it , if you're going for looks , i've seen some nice vinyl job BUT once you pop the hood the jig is up --- i would suggest you take your stock hood and paint it black with pearlescent clearcoat , it looks badass and its alot cheaper then true pearlescent paint , it'll give you a real nice custom look for a reasonable price
