I finally got some money saved up so I can start doing some audio work

I am sure tons of people upgraded their speakers, head units and etc so I am looking for some reviews

I am think I am already set on Pioneer headunit somewhere in $500 range

Then speakers? pioneer, jl,

Subs? kicker, pioneer ???

Amp? Fosgate? Kicker USA?

There are so many brands thats why I am trying to figure what to get

Rockford Fosgate subs FTMFW!

I put two P2D210's in a sealed box in my gf's car and man do they ever sound good!

I agree with Alpine, Pioneer, Fosgate being pretty damn good all around.....can't forget Kenwood either, I like their stuff as well.

Then there's JL Audio,.

What kind of stereo are you looking to setup? Do you want some heavy bass that will rattle every body panel? Are you looking at in dash monitors as far as a head unit goes? Any price limit for an entire setup?

As far as amps go, pheonix gold hands down. Pioneer makes some good in dash moniters.

One recomendation I have to make is get a multichannel amp like a 4 channel and run your speakers off it.

Im running a kicker 300.4 on 8 memphis speakers, a pheonix gold 1200.1 on 2 boston acoustic g5 12s and there is no distortion at all, and it litterly hurts my head when I turn it up...and im 20... :P

alpine can go home...

$500 can get you a used Pioneer AVIC-Z1..... (touchscreen w/ hard drive for the maps and for music)

find the site that lets you download the avic-z3 software for free... do the mod... $500 AVIC-Z3... like magic.

also - i had a good experience w/ a pioneer amp and an old school 12" RF punch HE

We'll then I would recomend just a single 12, and for your application 1 kicker cvr would be good with like a 400w monoblock amp. I had the new 500w monoblock alpine amp and I got it new for 170 and it pushed a solid 500w rms. Just buy some good speakers to replace the stock ones and find a nice 4+ channel amp.

Damn double posting phone lol.

He said he's not looking for crazy bass so he won't need a cap, the factory alt and electrical system can handle what he needs.

If you don't know much about audio, make sure you get the right ohm rating on the sub to match what the amp is rated for.

Is this a sedan or wagon?

In my 855 I fit two 4in in the dash, two 6.5in in the front doors, two 5in in the rear doors and two 6x9s in the rear tailgate door. So there's plenty of room for speakers if you want a full sound but the main ingredient is the amp running them, there's no way a headunit could power them without distortion.
