washdup
Lookin' good! My first thought was the rivets would create high points creating a mis-shape; but it looks like you kinda just grind through 'em along with the fiberglass/bondo. I don't know much about body work--What are you using to do the sanding/grinding?
turbobrick
very nice, i love to see such well documented threads like this; it gives me inspiration to attempt to fix the R bumper that's been sitting in my basement for 2 years now.

JVC
nice work on the dedication to the project, I'd love to see this done to some other bumpers to create a more custom look sorta like PRAS has on his 850 with the V70 R bumper. Good work, I am very impressed and wish I had those skills. -John

Быстров
A++++++ man i know what it takes to do this kind of work and yes it can be a Huge PITA Well Done Thanks Pat cant wait for the tails to set it Off:) nice work on the dedication to the project, I'd love to see this done to some other bumpers to create a more custom look sorta like PRAS has on his 850 with the V70 R bumper. Good work, I am very impressed and wish I had those skills. -John a while ago i saw a guy do something similar on an 855, what he did was take his existing R bumper and added another lower peace to it, nade it look HAWT LIKE SECKS! it was red, i dunno if any one here seen it but if u have it post pics! as for skills, really nothing to it but intuitive thinking, bondo and patience. cause there are times u just wanny quit. Nice work, good for you! Looks like a Lada in your sig -- yours? its a vaz 2101... 1970 i believe. also known as a zhigul' lada didnt come till the late 70's as vaz 2103 though it was still a zhegul' it was then formally known as Lada :)
Serge
I am still in awe of how well it turned out. Russian ingenuity and improvisation is quite something to behold (in most cases) :)

Serge
We can put it on the calendar and revisit this in say 12 months. To tell you the truth I am actually a little concerned about it's long-term stability. I feel the filler may start to crack.
gotboost
Aren't these bumpers only like $330 shipped and painted from DW Volvo? I know that's what the V70R bumpers go for. Doesn't really seem worth all this time, work & money.
Быстров
there is actually less filler than you think. my one coat of filler actually in most places ended up being the final coat. i had to touch up some places where there were air pockets. And Che, you can put it on your yearly blog for all i care and as for Gotboost, read the other posts as to why i didnt buy new the thing is i have this feeling some of you guys think this is my one and only car my one and only pride and Joy. sorry, but its just a project thats parked in my storage lot behind my 22 foot bayliner i have other hobbies, other interests its just a FWD volvo, and this is just a time filler, to have some fun, make some before and after pictures, and spend with my paps. a fun car. the kind i dont loose sleep over on how well the paint shines or whatever so if i decide to NOT THROW 300 bucks at a new bumper cover, it doesnt phase me as say a Loss of time. i actually have another R bumper in my garage thats all well and done with no cracks or scratches. all im trying to say is, this is just fun to me. nothing more. and maybe ill decide to register it, or not i really dont care. maybe ill give it to my sister as a birthday present or something. blessings -alex
