I gave up for today but i will go back if someone can put a pic or a description of what wires to take. I traced them from where the amp was, behind the gauges, to under the driverside where all the big plugs go in. I tried tracing back the round plug but it headed in the direction of the trunk which didn't really make sense to me. Any input would be huge.

I don't think you were tracing the amp cables then, for an 850 the amp was behind the radio and is supported by a bracket fastened on both sides and is pretty easily identifiable. The harness stretched from end to end isn't very long as it really only needs to go from behind and under the dash to the radio. if i can find my camera i will post a picture of what it looks like for you, sorry i can't be a little more technical :\

A pic would be exactly what i need. The radio was gone from the car so maybe the person who grabbed the radio took all the associated harness/cables not knowing what they were for. I didn't think it was that difficult to identify. I ended up pulling the whole dash off as well and had wire spagetti all over my lap.

I'm at the jy and it looks like the factory amp harness is all wired into all the other harnesses. Do I cut the wires or does the harness have to ends?

Perhaps you are describing the DIN cable for the changer and not the factory amplifier. This can be determined by the size of the plug and pin count inside. If you cut the connections then you can not use them again with out repairing. Take your time and pull them out complete or don't waste your time. The DIN cables can be made for few dollars and a soldering iron. Speaker wire harness is just that, a plug with speaker wire going to the speakers. The plug is the more important component, so you could just attach new speaker wire if you feel the job of pulling the factory harness complete is too much.
