The Volvo factory instructions indicate that you have to have 2 special tools to lock down the self adjusting mechanism in order to install the pressure plate. (It says you need them to remove it also, but I assume that it doesn't matter if you are just going to pitch the old one anyway.)Are these tools common and rentable? Or is this a Volvo-only requirement?Are these tools really necessary? What happens if you just bolt the pressure plate to the flywheel like any other clutch and don't have the special tools?
