HPTDoh
I found a hood badge from a P1800 among some random car parts at my parent's house. I originally bought it to put on my toolbox, but considering how much I like different emblems, I think it might look cool mounted on my 855. Not completely sold on it, but maybe some photoshop people can help me out. What say you, VSpeed?PS It looks like:if you didn't know
khax
i'm actually surprised no one has thought of doing something similar. go for it
Dave 54
Me too, I voted without slash on a blacked out center would look good IMO.
HPTDoh
Me too, I voted without slash on a blacked out center would look good IMO.I'm conflicted about this one. There's a few cars that only have a hood badge (BMW), and some that have a grille and hood badge (Benz, Maserati). Not sure what would go best with an 850I should also note that I lined up the P1800 badge over the square badge on the grille. It didn't line up so nicely with the slash. I'm sure someone could make it look seamless, but it won't be me!

HPTDoh
Yep.. stock with the middle blacked out. It's chipped pretty badly, though. I've been wanting to respray it, just not looking forward to sanding down all those slats.. haha
Wagoneer855
Wait, so by hood do you mean in the center of the grille, or just above the grille in middle of the actual hood?
European Sportwagon
I have one of those too...I gave it a try in the grill but never committed to it.I was thinking drilling the hood and mounting it like they had it originally, but thats an even bigger commitment. Drilling mounting posts on the hood itself. I only mentioned the grille slash delete because only because it might look funny to have a square badge right under a triangle badge with different font and stuff. I'd like to stick with the stock grille either way, though.
Prezman26
That sounds pretty cool dude. I like both the hood and grille ideas. go for it and post some pictures!
Volverine
hey listen that would look better in the middle of the trunk....where ppl can actually see it....like saab does...nd bmw nd audi nd MB nd honda nd everybody...I was just thinking if volvo had an emblem like a symbol for the trunk other than the letters...youve answered my questionin addition has anybody ever put the volvo lettering in the middle of the 855/v70 wagon, instead of the left side, I think it would look nicer IMO

I've succumbed to the cookie-cutter mentality of VSpeed and drive a black wagon, though. I like the naked rear end for wagons in addition has anybody ever put the volvo lettering in the middle of the 855/v70 wagon, instead of the left side, I think it would look nicer IMOYes... a few here have. Can't think of any names, thoughInteresting break down of votes. I wish people would have said why they voted "no" though.
exexpat
No, because I don't like badges, especially chipped-up old ones. If you did badgeless grille and sourced a brand new (never mounted) hood badge, then I could see it.

If you did badgeless grille and sourced a brand new (never mounted) hood badge, then I could see it. I know what you mean, but I thought it gave it some character. Especially since the car's paint and overall condition is chipped up and showing its age. I don't think I'll go through with it simply because it just looked odd when I was eyeballing it. If it was smaller, I think it would work better.
the commissar!
Try it! Grind down the studs on the back and use double sided tape or similar...that way you can remove it when the whim strikes.
