Volvoman37 Posted November 6, 2004 Report Share Posted November 6, 2004 alright, after picking up my lovely lovely '95 855T today, i noticed a few things and if anyone knows about em, i'd appreciate some help, as i'm totally new to these cars. the 1990 240DL i had wasnt nearly as advanced technologically1) one of the lights in the dash is out. in the bottom part with my digital clock and temp gauge/other stuff. how do i change it?2) my service light is blinking constantly, ive read that they stay on for a few minutes, but this one doesnt go away. is there a reset button somewhere in the dash? or do i need to take it to volvo?3) the 6 disc changer seems to skip a lot. is this a common problem? i read the article about puting in an aftermarket head unit, which i might end up doing, as i already have a brand new one i had for the 240.4) torque steer is fun thanks guys! Volvoman37 Posted November 7, 2004 Author Report Share Posted November 7, 2004 weird. as soon as i started the car this morning, the blinking service light was back on again. i turned it off, put the key to position II, and repeated the process, and the light went off. i took the key out, and restarted it. hello service light, back on again. repeated the process, except this time i turned the car on WITHOUT removing the key. it started and the light stayed off, but as soon as i put the car in gear and started driving, the light came BACK on.and i waited the 2 minutes each time i started it to make sure it wasnt gonna go off on its own.all i can find in the manual for that light is that its just a scheduled maintenence light, and doesnt really signify anything terribly urgent, so why does it keep coming on? thanks again for the help! However, what I would do if I were you is just take the bulb out... if you need to be reminded to change your oil and check your air filter, you're a puetz. I just havent gotten around to it.
