P0442 = EVAP Emission Control System Leak, or so the OBD2 says. So what exactly should I be focusing on? I'm ordering new turbo hoses and vac hoses tomorrow. Anything else I should add to the list for this?

Check the gas cap to make sure it is secure and also inspect the seal for any damage. You can visually inspect the hoses by the charcoal canister to see if there are any obvious breaks in them as well. Evap leaks are more easily diagnosed with things like smoke machines.

Just got the new gas cap in today. There is almost a half inch difference in where the seal sits. The old seal is so far up in the knob that you can barely put a finger on it. The new one sits outside the knob. I haven't cleared the code yet, but can tell just visually that this could be the problem. I also inspected the lines from the gas fill area. All look okay, up until they go underneath the rear suspension. I can't look any further until I get it on a lift.

Thanks for the help!!

I got the same code too in January and replaced the gas cap and it's been fine since. OEM cap all the way.

i replaced my cap with an oem one twice and still get the code. last time i was under the cari remember seeing frayed vac lines near the FPR and the vent lines near the tank, im gonna replace them soon.
