aikitect
Got the above reading from my universal OBD-II reader after my "Check Engine" light came on. Car is a chipped 2000 V70-R with about 67,000 miles.I take it this means that I am having some issues with the catalytic converter? We spent about two hours tooling arond at low speeds looking for houses, and I wonder if the two are related - would driving hard help clear the system or do I need to think about buying a new catalytic converter?I am going to change spark plugs today (have not done since I bought and chipped the vehicle) and I will reset the code.Any advice appreciated. Bay13
Before considering a cat, the O2 sensors, front and rear need to be monitored to ensure they are woring correctly, lots of times they are the problem, and a lot cheaper than a cat. aikitect
Thanks for the reply.I reset the code and so far it has not come back again. If it does, then I will replece the O2 sensors.Question:The car is chipped and when I replaced the plugs they were a little whitter than I would like to have seen. Assuming for a moment that the O2 sensors caused teh engine check light to come on, will replacing the O2 sensors allow the car to run a little richer? DEWFPO
May I suggest checking the output of the two sensors (if the code comes back) BEFORE replacing any parts. The sensors are cheaper than the cat. but they are still fairly expensive. DEWFPO
