eslovett
99 S70 with 122K miles. I changed the oil trap and stopped the oil leaks. Now I have antifreeze leaking into the oil pan. When changing out the oil trap, I noticed there was a connection under the left side of the Air Intake Manifold. This connection is a junction of three hoses; two from the breather hose and one going to a connection near the thermostat (and thus antifreeze). First: Can anyone tell me what this line is that is going towards the thermostat? Second: Why am I getting antifreeze through the oil trap and into the oil? PsychoWagon
only way coolant can go into the oil pan from the pcv is if the nipple for the pcv is cracked.

PsychoWagon
theres a metal pcv nipple on 99s. It has to coolant lines coming off of it, and a thin line that goes to the pcv... if somehow both parts of the metal cracked then it would make it to the oil pan. <- highly unlikely. Unless you ptu a water line on where a pcv hose should go your car has other problems :o
MrWinkey
Why do you state it's antifreeze? Are you sure it's not just condensation which is very common?

DId you drain oil the oil from the pan to find milky oil or did you pull the dipstick and find a milky substance?
