2000 S/V 40

I had a 2001 S40 for about a year and it was in the 70k mi range and I liked it pretty good for what it was, a zippy small car. Had some quirks we didn't like but all in all it was good. Well my '97 850 T5 is starting to get on the wife's nerves and my other car is an '86 BMW... I'm spending a fair bit of energy and time with car repairs.

There's a locally one owner 2000 V40 FS with 66k on it with a clean carfax and a little service history. It's at a dealer and the price is in line with NADA/KBB.

Not wanting to compare the 2 cars by any means but want to judge the V40 on it's own merits or lack there of! If I remember it was a 100k TB interval and I don't see any record of a change. But it has been 9 years so a TB is in order. Is it a tough job compared to the 5 cylinders?

any other insight form those with a longer history with the 40's than I, would be much appreciated.

Take a look at my recent thread on S70 vs S40 - some advice there against the 2000 model, go for the 2001 up. I just bought a 2001 S40 with 51k miles, one owner for a very good price. Shop around a bit more!
