pwebb
arrived well packaged, but: heat shield bolt was broken off flush. this was not brought to my attention. turbo mounting stud was mushroomed so badly that no matter what I did, I could not get a die on it to clean up the threads. so, I decided to try and take the stud out. grabbed the torch, heated things up. it was moving, but squeeeeeking for mercy. I was making progress, but that damn stud was so badly stuck, it broke off. flush. I'm a mechanic. so lucky for me I've dealt with these things before, and I have the proper tools to take care of it. but for the average Joe with only basic hand tools, this would have been a nightmare. am I the only one who got boned here? Wagoneer855
I had a problem with one of the studs, but I just removed it, retapped it and was good to go. What do you expect on used manifolds and especially the price he's selling them at? Ben is awesome to work with and a great guy. I'm sure if you talked to him before posting he would've helped you out and backed up his parts.
GeraldJ
Id venture to say that doing this before contacting the seller is in bad taste. Ben seems to have a good rep around here. He has always been helpful to anyone that ask for it. When you buy used manifolds and such you have to expect something to be wrong. Its not like it was an unusuable part it just needed some attention.

randomdude
look at the money you saved. well worth a little work. next time contact the seller before making these threads.
Ghost Shadow
this is such bad taste, you could have contacted him first. btw- only supporting members can post in closed threads, and given everyone a -1 for rep is also in bad taste.
DonutsDemise
if you're a mechanic and you've dealt with these things before how are you being screwed. you'll probably break a stud somewhere when you install this on a car anyway, studs break, it's not like he sold you a cracked manifold. the only people who got screwed are the ones who didn't see these manifolds for those prices before they were gone. Fudge_Brownie
if you're a mechanic and you've dealt with these things before how are you being screwed. Doesn't matter what his job or skill level is. You buy a product you have a level of expectation, which is what is the dispute. Otherwise, I should sell him a busted ass car with a blown HG for full bluebook value because "he's a mechanic". However, I think the major issue here is pictures. Another great example of how you want pictures of an item before buying online. I personally would expect that buying a manifold from someone like this would mean you would not be receiving it with jammed studs or that this would be mentioned up front but that's just me. And while this might be a tasteless topic, how is contacting the seller going to change anything? Unless he wants a refund, there is no 'issue' to resolve, he just isn't happy with the level of service. It is best that he posts his issues under the member review section for future 'customers' to decide on their own what is important to them.
