JAH
my question is: which aftermarket car stereo should I buy that will work on all 5 of her Dolby speakers and play MP3 and be iPhone and iPod compatible? Thank you very much for your input! -JAH
DonutsDemise
anything will work if you wire it up correctly and it has the capability for ipod/iphone hookups. alpine cda-9886 is what I have and you can plug an ipod right into it. check crutchfield.com and look at headunits. they come with install hardware for free. Che'_Moderator
Your GF need a new BF? I would not focus on the OEM speakers. They are decent at best. Focus on a good HU that has the features you want and build your amp/speaker combo from there. BTW RED is positive.
AverageVolvo
Dam that sux, I would have a stereo shop do the install : ) Although, I am surprised volvo did not plan on this happening and install a breaker or overload circuit Best of luck. And as Che Moderator said "Focus on a good HU that has the features you want and build your amp/speaker combo from there. " perhaps a Double din, Touch screen Navi , will help her forget that little mistake.

TRACStar
+1 on more issues. wires get HOT fast and aren't the posts different diameters for this reason?? Or am I imagining that, like one would be loose and the other would need excessive force?? well at least he didn't put any energy drink in the gas

Other wise it would be a PITA wiring the trucks 3 batteries together. Even if they were not the same size, all you have to do is touch the posts and its gonna arch arc complete. I doubt any wires are fried. You have fuses and diodes for a reason. Only other problem I see him having is his woman leaving him for someone who knows + is red. Any pictures?
Chilled man
i know on the 01 P2 cars , if you jump from the batterie you fry the CCM and other items. I cant imagine what whould happen if you put them on wrong on those cars lol

Chilled man
Are you speaking from experience? No but read about it a few times on SS and someone actually PMed me here about the towtruck company doing it also to his car . on the 01s your only suppsed to jump/ charge the car from in the engine bay. Jumping it or charging it directly from the batterie will lead to CCM damage and other things fried.
