damitzmike
I have a 850R with 84K miles and when I am at a stop the idle will rev up to about 2200 then back down and up and down on occasion. I just recently (650 miles ago) put msd ignition and ipd wires with new cap, rotor, spark plugs. does anyone have an idea of what this could be? damitzmike
all vac lines are tip top, someone told me it may be the idle controll motor or the vac line off of that... im not sure if the 850's have a icm or where it would be located could this be a possibility? It would be a good thing to do to check your IAC valve (idle air control), it is between the throttle body hose and vacuum tree w/ a hose ~3/4 in. diamater entering and exiting. You want to be able to hear the pump inside jingle when GENTLY shaken. If you cannot grab some TB cleaner, let it soak in the IAC for a little bit, get what you can out w/ a Q Tip or by some other gentle means and reinstall. You can also clean the electrical contacts w/ electrical cleaner if you wish.
damitzmike
ill check that out, the car just set of a cel.. took a few times to start up and while driving the temperature gauge was moving back from cold to half way and back to cold... i cant really get it to a shop till monday but the shop is 35 miles away. coolant level and oil are good so i dont think its going to overheat.. i hope not lol
--Aaron--
Get that code read.....if your temp. gauge is fluctuating my bet is on the ECT sensor in the thermostat housing.
