C70 Sub And Install Question...

R wagon

Recommended Posts

I have 2 subs and an amp I took out of my old car (850R). My current car (98 c70 with dolby digital) I understand is a little different because of the amp. Other than the inverter, do I need anything else to make my setup work, besides power wire, RC cables? Also, where did you guys tap into so the amp turns off when the car is off?

Pin 5, center of 6 pin DIN cable for remote turn on. You could also use the power antenna lead provided there is no up/down switch in use.

You may also patch in to the amp cable from the HU (sc-901?) to the C70 amp to access the line-level audio cables for front & rear, to feed your sub amp. The +12V turn-on cable is here too. Pins are here:

Ground issues could be fun...

ok, so I have everything hooked up, and when I go to play music, the subs aren't working. The amp turns on and everything is hooked up correctly, the only thing im concerned about is the inverter I tapped into the rear deck speakers. These speakers are sufficient enough to tap into right? (Btw Im running a stock head unit)

People use Line Output Converters all the time with these.

Should be fine. If you have a 3.5mm stereo to RCA cable,

plug an iPod or something into the amp to be sure it's working.

You can also plug a set of RCA cables into the amp, lick your finger

and touch the tip of the RCA plug at the other end and it should hum.

Once you're sure the amp and subs are good, you can work on the input.
