javadoc
I echo Neubar's suggestion of the BSC/TCV.
mdlimy
Fyi there may not be coil packs on your dizzy ran car but there is still a coil that can go bad( somethings gotta feed that distributor some fire right?) I say replace the maf and when you do make sure you pull your plugs and clean them. Exhaust smoke, black?
Rex
Hi all, No, no smoke at all. The boost solenoid seems to be functioning. I have several T5's for spares and they've all got different looms, solenoids and airflow metres etc! I'm sure this is a fuel issue - the immersed pump sounds like a rusty gate when you flick the ignition on, but as I live in a third world country, the pressure guage still hasn't arrived. If I nurse the throttle she still accelerates well up into the rev range uless I floor it and she barfs. It could also be the coil spark amplifier as someone said - I just don't have another to test, and I'm sure it's silly money at Volvo. Ipd
If your fuel pump is howling then you should probably replace it, also sounds like it would be in line with the rest of the symptoms you mentioned.

I hope it's not as much of a PITA as it is on the 2000 awd cars.
