jdlc
Is the SAS valve connention to the stock exhaust downpipe just a regular O2 bung? Surprised to realize my 3" OBX staright downpipe doesn't have one for it, just a solitary bung welded at the other end, obviously meant for front O2 sensor. Do exhaust shops have these bungs or do I need to purchase them before going to them for install (I instend to have a full 3" exhaust custome-made with Magnaflow 54959 and yet to be decided-on resonator). Thnx for any help.
Snabb T5M
SAS? Are you referring to the auxillary air pump that's hooked into the DP? If so, I believe that bung is a little smaller than the O2 bungs. I had the same problem when putting in the EST DP. My friend went to an autoparts store and found an appropriate size threaded nut to match the auxillary air pump size to weld into the DP.

Yes, Secondary Air System (SAS) valve, aka aux air pump valve. Thanks for the info.
--Aaron--
Have whichever shop cut out the SAS bung from your old DP and weld it into the new......it's a relatively cheap swap, in my case that was done and a piece of small piping was welded in to extend the SAS tubing to the OBX. --Aaron--
I painted the tubing black since this but you get the idea...
DonutsDemise
you should get a bung welded in for a wideband gauge while you're at it
Pops Racer
And maybe an EGT. That SAS thing is for the birds. 850's period. Hi Orlando. Hows the car running?
jdlc
And maybe an EGT. That SAS thing is for the birds. 850's period. Hi Orlando. Hows the car running? Hi Sean. Car's running good. There's more room for improvement, it'll never end, you know it, lol. Thnx for great pix Aaron, and the idea did cross my mind when leroystew said it's not the same as o2 bung. Funny to imagine how it would look after all those bungs welded into it. I assume that for EGT and Wideband, the bung is the same size as the O2 sensors? Not that I would need any of that, lol, my tune is off-the shelf ST stage 2 (17 psi) and will probably stick with it to avoid any motor issues and stay on the safe side. ST is known to be on the rich side, so expensive wideband propably can be skipped... exhaust temp, Idk, worth the money for the set-up? Or money can be better spent for a new EST carbon-fiber strut brace, lol.
--Aaron--
No problem man, good luck! I'm assuming a wideband bung would be the same as an O2 bung but I know from personal experience that an EGT probe bung is smaller.

--Aaron--
Removing the SAS will net you no additional power.......some like to do it to avoid the hefty repair charges. The parts are pretty pricey.
