Wow what a beotch...it definitely had a few "issues" shall we say. Also, fyi...what I found out was this was 1 of 6 R's in this color exported to the US during the 2000 model year. They were specially built for Volvo corporate. Here's what we were up against: Got it at the yard, window says runs rough heavy smoke. Compression test: 55 35 0 25 30 Basically, my brother David just tore into the thing. We had the head decked and the 19t rebuilt. It has new plugs, new PCV, new head gasket obviously, new timing belt, new serpentine belt, etc. It needed a hell of a lot. Now though, it runs perfectly. It smokes white smoke pretty bad, but it's just residual coolant built up in the exhaust. It may need a new cat at some point, but that remains to be seen. In the meantime, we're thrilled that it runs and I hope now that this is over maybe in a month or so it can be my new awesome daily driver to replace the cross country.
