R Manifold Heat Sheild

Recommended Posts

Sure let me scan my slips and Ill show you first hand. let me ask everyone this have you actualy felt the heat build up that occurs behind the firewall under your dash when you run with no shield, I have and can say that regardless of gains or loss that in itself should be enough to run with a shield.

LOL ok .

how about remove the rubber that blocks any air from going out behind the engine and up and out and that heatshield is now a hinderance.

That heat shield is blocking such a small area its pretty much pointless.

only thing it really keeps is from air travelign around the turbo coolling it off alittle more and removing the heated air from the engine bay.

remove the turbo heatshiled , remove the plastic strip below the hood add a few spacers to the hood hinges to jack it up alittle to move more air

and bam cooler engine bay cooler turbo cooler everything in there .

and yes I have proved this .

thermometer in the egnine bay before and then did such mods and engine is cooler, by 2-3 degrees depding on driving conditions.

what I found intresting with the stock intake and with the EST intake intake air temps dont get hotter then 1 degree more then aimbent outside temps.

Found that out the whole 20hr drive to florida with my scangauge.

temp from outside and temp from intake were with in 1 degree the whole time.

LOL. Probably because anyone who thinks heat shields do not work is :arob:

Along with your brillance on changing batteries on 01 and newer cars doesnt do any damage and or jumping from the batterie

where did you find this one?

Theres a local shop near me, their site is http://www.racepartsolutions.com/categories.asp?cat=99.

That one is made for either T3 or T4 exhaust sides, but ill go and test fit it on my Td05. I just realized that for a Td04, those will be way to big to fit snugly

You cannot be that dumb. I mean its just not possible that as much as you work on cars you think the things you do. As for the battery, I still do it all the time. Your thread showed no reason why I shouldn't use battery tender at the batteries terminals.
