Mildly Complicated Wiring Question

yeah, i got that from this site...used it to wire the front door speakers...socket too complicated for me to add wire too...

1A = Dash Left Speaker + red/white, 2A = Dash Left Speaker - yellow/white,

7A = Dash Right Speaker + yellow/grey, 8A = Dash Right Speaker - grey

3B = Left Front Door Speaker - green/brown,

4B = Left Front Door Speaker + green/white,

9B = Right Front Door Speaker - red/black,

10B = Right Front Door Speaker + red/white,

1B = Left Rear Speaker - brown/black,

2B = Left Rear Speaker + brown/white,

5B = Right Rear Speaker - pink/black,

6B = Right Rear Speaker + pink/white,

according to the website, the rear door and rear deck are wired parallel... so i don't know the actualy where it is split...

r u sure there isn't a pair of pink wires for the right rear speakers (door and deck)?

anyway,

gosh...i wish i had a visual of the metra harness... have u tried the stock speakers with the new hu u have? i mean, have u hooked up the harness to the new aftermarket hu and left the stock speakers in to c if u get any sound from the front door & front dash (the rears are parallel so it doesn't matter if u hear one as they come out of the same source so if u hear rear door u should hear the rear deck)? and try the head unit's balance to see if u change the sound front/rear/left/right that they are indeed the correct corners? if that is true, then it'd be like anthony said, and be very simple... the 4 channel amp would be easy... 1) front right 2) front left 3) rear right 4) rear left.... all u have to do is wire up speaker wires from the amp to the metra harness... a volt meter would tell u which amp speaker wire would go to which wire in the metra harness...and the mtera harness obviously goes to the volvo wiring..u'd be set...

Id certainly like to believe that the rear door and the rear deck are already wired in parallel from the factory. That would make my job one step easier. But here's why I dont think they are. Like I have mentioned before, when I was just running the new HU with the metra harness and stock wiring, I got sound from the rear doors, but not the rear deck. If they are wired in parallel, (AB) then if A then B. But again, I heard nothing from the deck.

That holds true of course unless somnething has happend in the interim causing the deck speakers to stop working. I'll plug in the stock HU to the stock wiring harness tomorrow to see if this is the case. I almost hope it is, cause otherwise I am all out of ideas.
