jnderr
Just curious what kinds of methods people used to secure the projector to the reflector/housing for the low beam and still allow for adjustment.
NGB
Drilled 4 holes and ran studs through, held the studs in place using jam nuts. Some people also JB weld the studs into the stock reflector bowl and then bolt the projecter onto those.
Ipd
I mixed MEK and abs shavings, then epoxied it in place for the first one I did. Still holding together pretty well.
Oreo931
epoxied it in place for the first one I did. Still holding together pretty well. This is what I did on my s70. The projectors have been fine for over 2.5 years now.

Then used nuts and washers to secure it. JB welded the nuts to the reflector housing.

TorqueSteer
I was uncomfortable with using epoxy so I used nuts and springs, so they can be easily adjusted.
'93 Dave
springs are ideal and it helps cushion the projector when u hit bumps jb welding it to the housing is fine, i just want there to be some give on such a small reflector and patience is needed, as it might take a few times to align the beam horizontally. install the projectors then put them on the car without finishing up to make sure its aligned. I think at present its the horizontal alignment that is my biggest concern. That seems like its kind of fixed so you need to get that right before adding bolts or studs. If you use nuts and bolts, there is plenty of adjustment room for horizontal even after the bolts are in place.
'93 Dave
If you use nuts and bolts, there is plenty of adjustment room for horizontal even after the bolts are in place. +1, loosen up the bolts and then you can twist the projector, then when its in the right spot just tighten everything back up. little bit of apoxy and your golden. however there are a few difficulties with certian projectors. mainly ones that arnt symmentrical. ie e55s. because of the switch its not as easy to rotate. Just curious what kinds of methods people used to secure the projector to the reflector/housing for the low beam and still allow for adjustment. and before you cut up the reflectors, put in a bulb turn it on and point it at the wall. mark this point on the wall and on the bench as when you install your projector this is where you want the center of the beam to go! TorqueSteer
Yeah my E55's were a pain compared to my first retro with the Bosch ones. What are you running now, the E55's or the TSX?
