Guest Guest Volvo Guest
I fixed the leak on my 2000 S70 GLT by watching this video. The crack was small and hard to find. Seems like the evap codes and problems vary from model to model and year to year. Best to inspect the whole system.
Figawi
I had the J Hose replaced because it was the cheaper of the two. Tech said the old hose looked fine. CEL stayed off for about 2 days and now it's back. Time to replace the pump or should I try something else first? Dealer was pretty certain it was the pump that was bad. Figawi
Took it to the dealer yesterday and had them replace the Leak Detection Pump. Fingers crossed.
Guest jim
some models have an extended warranty for an ecm upgrade from the dealer that takes care of a lot of ldp codes without changing the pump.
Chef JPD
No one has mentioned it, but a faulty gas cap can throw the code also. I had replaced my tatty old cap with an aftermarket unit. Started throwing 442 immediately. got my hands on an official volvo cap, and problem solved. looking at the 2 caps, the volvo cap has a double seal and the aftermarket a single seal.
