'01 V70 Vibration

My '01 V70 has had a progressively worsening vibration. It's really noticeable under load at about 60MPH...back off the acceleration and it smoothes out. It also gets worse if I'm turning left and smoothes out when turning right. My best guess was right side axle - but the shop says tranny bearing...does that sound right?

Tranny bearing ?

I would beat on either a wheel bearing or a bad axle boot

Also...I forgot to mention that the car pulls to the right.

When the hub bearing on my 98 GLT went, it was obvious. No vibration, but it howled like crazy.

I have the same sort of issue on my 01, @ 60-65mph under load there's a slight med freq vibration (going straight). As soon as I remove the load, (drop the throttle) it quits. Almost like the tranny is slipping. Dosen't happen all the time, but when it does, it's pronounced.

Also...the fluid in the tranny looks good and there're no tranny leaks either.

You can grab the axles and check them for play very easily without even jacking the car up.
