jh95850
I just upgraded my speakers and headunit and am looking to get a little more bass, but I need the trunk space to haul guitar gear around Has anyone put any compact subwoofers in their 850's or know any that would work well with an aftermarket system? I was thinking about getting one of those Bazooka tubes and putting it on the rear deck, but I'm worried my 100w rms speakers will overpower it
BurgerBob
If you have any self respect you won't buy a bazooka tube. Try JL's new thin line subwoofer. The 12" will push 500 watts rms and JL recommends a sealed box with only .8 cubic feet.
jh95850
I would love to do that, but I don't think I have room to install another external amplifier

It's an all in one unit, 10" sub and amp. I got my mint used Basslink with all original acc's for 125$. You'd have to get a hell of a deal on amp and driver to beat that, I think. Ghost Shadow
Last one crapped out after 4 years....2 year warranty is no help. 4 years ago, pioneer was just another whore. fast foward to 2009, pioneer is trying to clean up their act. Keyword, trying. they are terminating dealers that are not authorized to sell on the internet. even though, a site may say they sell it, do they really have it? with subs, you can blow it in 2 hrs. what do you do then? send it back? that costs money. looking into some of these ebay sellers. their language on the warranty states they warranty the items not the manufacture from 1 year DOP. also subwoofers that areblown are not eligible for return. hey, i buy from ebay too to save money. somethings you do and buyer beware and somethings you don't because the problems that can come from it. JA VOLVO
+1 on the Basslink. I am using one I have had for about 5 years now and it is in it's second car. I have the factory head unit with an adapter on the amp line to split out the front and rear signals to RCAs. I have those sent to the Basslink and it is very clean. It fills in the low end very nicely. You can see some pics of the install HERE (crappy pics, need to take new ones).

Guest rrochell8
On those adapters you speak of...did you buy them or make them? If you bought them, where might I find them and if you made them, do you have any pics? Thank you for your consideration.
