Brad850
The hose from the pcv system going in the top of my engine keeps on popping off and spewing oil everywhere. I tried the oem clip a few times and some other ones from home depot and it still wont stay on.... idk what to do at this point. Can anyone give me any insight? The whole system was recently replaced too.

I use a worm clamp.. never had an issue on both my cars

cn90
1. Did you remove the Valve Cover? The Valve Cover is what keeps this PCV from coming loose. 2. I zip-tie mine and all is well.
--Aaron--
Try a worm clamp as mentioned. :D

shanehutton
Also, make sure that the metal lip it slides onto is clean and the inside of the hose is clean. You can also shorten the Volvo clamps a bit as well before you put them on. That helped with mine.

cn90
In the following DIY: http://lakesidedp.com/uploadpics/pcv/ Step #6 shows you clearly the Plastic Valve Cover (labeled "D") presses downward on the PCV Hose. Did you by any chance remove your Plastic Valve Cover from the car?
Oreo931
is this true? No. In the following DIY: http://lakesidedp.com/uploadpics/pcv/ Step #6 shows you clearly the Plastic Valve Cover (labeled "D") presses downward on the PCV Hose. Did you by any chance remove your Plastic Valve Cover from the car? I've had my spark plug cover off since I bought my car with zero problems. You should not be relying on the spark plug cover to keep that PCV hose in place. It should be firmly attached to the hole on the cam cover with a clamp. shanehutton
Relying on the cover to hold that hose from popping off will just leave you with a boatload of oil leaking out and pooling under the cover.
cn90
Well, 1. My car (bought brand new in 1998) comes from factory with no clamp on that hose. So the Plastic Cover holds it down. 2. If you look closely then the Metal Nipple (where the hose is attached to) has a slightly tapered shape, so the hose has a tendency to come out without the Plastic Cover. Regardless: a. Use a worm-type clamp or Oetiker clamp. b. Put the Plastic Cover on. Then you should be good.
Brad850
Okok... I'm going to clean it up...put a fresh clamp on...put the valve cover on...and then if I still have problems I'll be back haha. Thanks again to everyone :)
