Today Replaced Cv Then Everything Hit The Fan

Today I decieded to replace the cv axle with the missing boot. Everything was going fine. First I found the tie rod was broken, so I just put the to the side. Then went and to pull out the cv axle and found out the lower ball joint was bad. Then after installing the new axle and everything back the way it was the wheel hub broke. Now I need to replace almost every component on the suspension including the cheap fcp groton upper strut mounts. It was a great long day with nothing accomplished except becoming a professional at removing and installing Volvo suspension components.

Could be worse. They could have failed while you were driving.

Finding a problem before it fails is better than fixing a problem and the secondary damage it has caused after it failed.

I listed my entire front end experience here:

http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php/topic/111383-fwd-1998-volvo-v70-front-bilstein-tc-strut-diy-tipstricks

This is why:

- frequent inspection of the car is important. Your car is an example of neglect.

- when doing front end, it is better to do them all (see my link above). On the long run, you save money.
