andrewearle
I just bought a 2000 V70 a couple of weeks ago. This is an awesome website! Full of information. I look forward to posting more. So I've never replaced a fuel filter before. I've checked out Mr. Winkey's (http://volvospeed.com/Repair/fuelfilter.php) guide to doing it, and it seems simple enough. $35 for the part vs. $80 installed from my mechanic sounds awesome too. My question is what is the best way to purge the pressure from the system? On the bottom of the link^^ it shows the tire type nozzle, and others have said to pull the fuel pump fuse while the car is running until the engine cuts out. What do you guys think is best? beasters
Don't take my advise too seriously, but I don't think your source is overly right. It's pretty simple really, just leave the car off over night (to help release some pressure) then I believe you unscrew the pressure nozzle and simply plug and play.
