Speedtuning Usa Is A. O. K.

Hi Patrick,

The previous owner installed the chip so I honestly cant tell you what a stock 5-speed c70 hpt feels like. With the TRACS system off I could spin all through first and second pretty easily(I dont drive like this and dont recommend it, just had to try it once). It really pulls though, especially second gear. I have the stock downpipe and exhaust and it really feels like it gets a little choked up on the upper end of the rpm range but I am very happy with the feel of the car. Like I said I dont wanna make any claims on the hp of the car and will wait to dyno and see what it is putting out.

Hey everyone,

My 98 c70 hpt has the speedtuning chip and I will be hitting the dyno during the dyno meet coming up.  My only mods are the chip and a k & n filter so I am interested myself in seeing what it will do.  I'll post graphs after I run.  If anyone plans on attending chime in on the post at the top of the page.  We still need a few more people to get in on the cheaper dyno prices.

OOoo definitely Post it up.. did you get the 17psi version???

Im interested in seeing these charts.

I think you are the only N/A guy with a ST chip...So you can really feel the diff eh? I would have love to see some numbers to compare to. Are you planning on Dyno time?

Not according to Oliver, I was the second one in a row that he did that day, the other was also a '94 NA, there are some others floating around with them, they don't hang out in this forum...too much intimidation from the turbo guys :( .

Dyno? when I'm done ;) , still got some stuff I want to do.

PEACE!

bah i would bet over 1/2 of the turbo's on this board don't run their best any way (boost leaks, stage 0 e/t/c)

so where did you feel the most gain? anything down low? Can you chirp the tires w/o power braking now?

Just got back from speedtuning! I opted for the 17 psi upgrade. Now I only started off with the K&N drop in filter, plugs, cap, rotor, and fuel filter. I did feel the difference it was definately noticable between 2200-4500 rpm. Once I get the exhaust done I'm sure I'll feel it to redline. For the $$$$ I'd consider it one of the 1st performance mods to be done.

Yeah man, chirps a bit more off the start, but you can feel the most power further on in the acceleration, say around 4k-5k rpm, esp in second gear. All around it was a great upgrade, I'm glad I did it and SpeedTuning has the best deal that I've seen so far.

PEACE!

OH! BTW, a buddy of mine, (BREAKAWAY) drove it around today. He owns a '95 T-5R with all sorts of upgrades on his car, and he was impressed with the preformance of my car, not bad for a NA.

Next engine upgrade will be the UR underside pulley.
