Jono850
Hey guys, looking for some pictures of 6.25" or 6.5" speakers in 850 doors. I'm debating between sticking with 5.25" or going up to the 6.5". Just unsure as to how it will look with the cutting etc. Have any of you guys done it in yours? Comments? Thanks
BurgerBob
Haven't done it, but I wouldn't. Too easy to just put in 5.25" speakers. Are you going to do custom door panels?
Jono850
I'd like to get some bass without having to find room to put a sub. I like my Jetta's setup with 6.5" in the doors + tweeters. Sounds decent for stock.
Dave 54
I've got a set of Pioneer 6.5 in the rear, had to cut a couple of posts off the grill cover for it fit back on. If your looking for bass you won't get it with 6.5". Get a Infinity basslink for $299, hardly takes up any room. Or you if you have the extra coin you could go with Rockford Fosgate Punch overload for $700, it's just a little bigger sized, not by much. When you added the 6.5's in the rear doors, did you retain the plastic piece that is glued to the factory speaker? I don't know what it's called, maybe a splash guard of some sort? I'd like to ad 6.5s to try it out but am wondering about that plastic thing attached to the speaker.

Are you referring to the speaker cover/grate or the plastic shield behind the speaker? I'm concerned about the shield behind the speaker which protects the speaker from water.
