Sven70R
What iPod integrator should I buy? I'm sticking with the stock head unit and am mainly making this upgrade for sound quality. I'm currently running the iPod through the Tape Deck so anything will be a major improvement. Thanks.
beadgc23
You have an SC-816? I've been using the USA•SPEC PA11 HON with the volvo cable and it works very well, with an extra line input for computer etc. They have an iPhone 3G compatible cable now, and all playback controls work with the HU & the iPhone. This is one source for the package Here It's a breeze to install - two taps to the constant & switched radio power connections. NB - you loose the 6CD changer port, but I guess you knew that, right? purplecoupe
I am using a Blitzsafe adapter. It's also compatible with the iPhone 3G. It was about about $70 bucks. Sven70R
Yeah I could care less about losing the CD Changer. Thanks for the Info! I think I'm going to go with the Blitzsafe adapter. Another friend of mine is using it and he loves it. Thanks for the info!

I think the main difference with the Blitzsafe is USA allows you to control using the HU, while with BS you have to touch the iPod. I keep my iPod hidden, so I appreciate the USA's added feature. Bought here: http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/VOL_MLINK1_V1.html Installed w/: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3004023 OEM speakers never sounded so good, though I may upgrade fronts only: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_065S35/Boston-Acoustics-S35.html?tp=96 Good luck. I have the USA Spec in my Volvo and in my Tahoe. Works wonderful with I-Phone 3G, I-Pod Touch (charging and HU control), Aux input works good with other units like Nano, Sansa, and Palm TX. Wanted one for the Viggen but it is not available...
dmelviØØ7
I prefer to control my music through the ipod so I use the Blitzsafe, charges my nano, ipod classic and my 3GS. Will not work with my 3rd generation ipod though, but it's 6 years old so I'm not gonna complain.

The USA-Spec allows you to use either the iPod wheel or the head unit's buttons to control the player.

News to me, but the 2 I've seen sucked real quick and aren't they more expensive than the Blitzsafe?

brick-a-brac
Sorry to resurrect an old, dead thread, but I was curious whether anyone had success running the USA-Spec ipod adaptor through an SC-901 that still has a functional changer? I've heard it will work through the input connector for the six-disk changer, but was looking for verification. Cheers!
SlapShot
I would assume it does. I have a BlitzSafe adapter plugged into the changer plug on the back of my SC-901 and it works without a hitch.

I'm running the USA•SPEC with an SC-901/Dolby ProLogic setup and an active 3 disk changer (though I only use it to amuse passengers with its mechanical antics). No problems whatsoever other than the first time I hit the next button on the SC-901 after connecting the iPhone it refuses to go to the next track. Second press works. This is hardly a dealbreaker...The Dolby Prologic box makes a great mount for the PA-HON 11, btw. Oh - pressing the CD-6 button mutes audio but does not pause the iPhone, but then the pause button on an SC-816 did the same. Power off will pause the phone. Feel free to PM if you have more questions.
